FMPI PRESS CONFERENCE “SATISFACTION WITH THE WORK DONE AND CERTAINTY FOR THE FUTURE”

A press conference held by FMPI President Antonina Terranova along with FMPI Director General Salvatore Ronghi, FMPI’s head of active labor policies Giuseppe Fontanarosa, and deputy director general Massimo Lucidi was held in Naples at its headquarters at Centro Direzionale.

The occasion of the press conference was useful not only to put on the table the most topical issues affecting the business world, but also to present the concise but juicy and significant balance sheet of the Small Business Federation.

Joseph Fontanarosa aimed to remind that the government agenda must not come to a halt“even at a sensitive time in political life and

social in Italy and it is appropriate not to give up on the crucial issues of wages, bargaining, active labor policies capable of creating a real intersection between labor supply and demand and, last but not least, vocational training. Such issues should be approached not ideologically but secularly and realistically.” .

The year 2021 closed with the membership of 12,348 small businesses, with the opening of 64 Territorial Offices throughout the country, 5 National Structures, 6 autonomous regional structures, 2 Bilateral Bodies, and a National Joint Body for Occupational Safety. In addition, FMPI has signed 13 National Labor Agreements, 22 Second Level Agreements, more than 5 thousand conciliations.

“This is a very satisfying result that projects us among the most nationally representative federations,” Antonina Terranova said at the press conference.

“The sector we mostly represent is small businesses with 10 to 50 employees” –President Terranova still stressed, adding, “this makes us even more proud, considering that, in 2019 alone, the FMPI project took off and, in the two years that followed, we suffered the largest and most disastrous crisis following the Covid19 pandemic. In order to give further impetus to our action, we have decided to focus on a new and stronger organizational structure, starting with the appointment of the new Director General.”

“I accepted the appointment to head the Federation because I am certain that, in the current critical economic picture, the category that needs the most attention and support is that of small entrepreneurs, who hold up production in Italy, sustain employment levels and are themselves workers but without any protection. Investing in small businesses means strengthening bargaining and creating stable, quality jobs.” – stressed Salvatore Ronghi, who also pointed out that. “in order to overcome the economic crisis in which Italy finds itself, the next government must take care of small businesses and make them the center of gravity of its political action with the drastic reduction of taxation on them, the abolition of IRAP and the cutting of the tax wedge.”.
